The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Product Director to join our fast-paced team in driving the foundations of our business – specifically the core systems that power our ecommerce marketplace. The right candidate for this role has a demonstrated track record of: bringing highly effective products to life – particularly in B2C businesses; defining clear product strategies that deliver on company objectives and provide flexibility, nimbleness and optionality to the business teams; analyzing performance and making the right decisions on where to go next; translating those into executional initiatives and plans that catalyze teams into action; and focusing relentlessly on driving results. You live and breathe the business and use your product management skills to make things happen. A do-er and a leader, you are eager to roll-up-your-sleeves and get into the weeds, while also leading, coaching and guiding a team of product managers who will look to you for macro visions and detailed feedback.

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:

  • Define the Core Systems product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and company strategy.
  • Deliver effective product experiences and foundational capabilities that align to our “north star” and move the needle on core business metrics.
  • Collaborate with leadership across the org to translate input/needs/feedback/requests into the product; challenge assumptions; and validate new ideas that result in clear and actionable outcomes
  • Manage team to ensure that we can bring our product vision to life: meet deadlines, solicit feedback from stakeholders, and act as a key input and enabler for the dev process.
  • Lead analysis, impact review, testing and validation of ideas, concepts, projects (large and small); coach others in doing this effectively.
  • Act as a coach, facilitator, and mentor to elevate the execution of the team; support skillset and competency growth; you’re a “bar raiser.”
  • Stay on the cutting edge of what’s new to identify opportunities to innovate within the Vivid Seats ecosystem.

How your role expectations will progress as a Product Director in the first 30, 60, and 90 days:

30 days in

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
  • Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our marketplace constituents.
  • Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
  • Meet with your team to understand their motivations, passions, and communication preferences.
  • Understand the ins and outs of our platforms and systems; dive into the current projects that are in flight.

60 days in

  • Lead in flight initiatives towards key milestones and delivery dates
  • Shape product roadmaps and core strategies for work ahead; enable direct reports to lean on you for guidance on trade-offs and business impact
  • Build, maintain, and leverage peer and stakeholder relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives.
  • Dive into end-to-end Product and Engineering processes to understand current state and potential for improvement.
  • Introduce and refine product management best practices to maximize the team’s work product and effectiveness.

90 days in

  • Mentor others, playing an active role in elevating the skill sets of your team and those you interact with.
  • Get ahead on forward-thinking product opportunities: identify key areas, shape the strategy; validate assumptions; get alignment; drive execution/delivery.
  • Proactively work across UX and Engineering leadership to design and implement process improvements that positively impact collective execution.
  • Lead team in stitching together input across stakeholder discussions, VOC channels, and user experience research.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of prior experience in product management and a record of successful product strategy + product delivery, and 5+ years of experience in a manager role.
  • Expertise in core product management skills; you are an expert and can sharpen the skills of those on your team and those around you.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively evaluate new ideas; determine outcomes and impact and understand the day-to-day business – you are a data-enabled leader who can glean insights from data and pivot that into action.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to quickly assess situations and make recommendations for key decisions.
  • Superb visual and verbal communication skills – you are an excellent communicator across all levels within the organization.
  • Impeccable attention to detail – you raise the bar on the product ecosystem and have experience coaching and mentoring product teams where the details and the delight matters.
  • Comfortable having a conversation balancing technology approaches with engineering leaders as well as business value with product managers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage trade-offs to establish the right approach to executing the product strategy.
  • Capable of tackling ambitious goals while moving fast and delivering effectively against them.
