Position Overview

The Project Financial Analyst is the primary point of contact between Business Development, Operations and Finance. He/She is responsible for all financial aspects of assigned projects, including revenue review, project profitability, backlog reporting, change in scopes, invoicing, and monthly budget health analysis.

Specific tasks may include:

  • Provides accurate and timely financial analyses to support our project managers, financial project management department, and our clients’ staff for the company’s most complex projects.
  • Reviews revenue each month for assigned Fixed Price and Unitized contracts.
  • Develop monthly backlog for all assigned projects.
  • Loads projects and budgets into Microsoft Dynamics AX and maintains accurate information within the system.
  • Review/analyze profitability for assigned projects monthly.
  • Develop client accruals as needed.
  • Develop and maintain Milestone Payment Schedule and related cash flow forecast for Original award and subsequent changes in scope.
  • Attend project meetings as applicable to support assigned projects.
  • Attend monthly Project Review meetings to ensure understanding of project status, potential issues and to support the project manager with project finance questions.
  • Assisting project managers and core team members with questions, concerns and analyses of projects as requested.
  • Developing and analyzing change orders for incorporation into original contracts.
  • Prepares/Reviews monthly and ad hoc invoicing for assigned projects.
  • Monitors receivables for assigned projects and reports past due for bi-weekly meeting.
  • Assist with year-end financial audits as well as ad-hoc requests.
  • Other project financial analysis duties as required.

Degree & Experience

  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting, or related business field of study and 3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, planning and budgeting.
  • CRO or related clinical trial industry experience required.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of accounting applying US GAAP, working knowledge of GCPs, ICH guidelines, FDA and other applicable country regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines is necessary.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
