About the Role

BookNook is looking for a passionate Senior Design Manager to add to our growing marketing team. This person would assist marketing by creating and producing marketing and design initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and strategic thinker and will be excited about fulfilling BookNook’s explosive growth.

At BookNook, You Will:

  • Play an important role in creating and implementing our visual brand identity and story
  • Take projects from inception to completion utilizing Adobe Creative Suite as a primary design tool
  • Play a major role in the evolution of BookNook’s design system and visual language
  • Collaborate daily with the Creative Team and at times work with senior marketing leadership and stakeholders to kick off new initiatives and to present concepts
  • Be ready to provide informative depth for the creative presented
  • Use your robust background and knowledge of print production, web creative, and digital campaigns to deliver and oversee final deliverables
  • Take design and art direction from the Creative Director and work with the Director of Marketing Services on a daily basis to understand objectives, project details, and deadline expectations
  • Participate in providing art direction for outside vendors and review deliverables to assure fidelity to the creative vision

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Translate the “program experience” into visual collateral
  • Create design options for concept reviews
  • Integrate feedback from internal and external customers into revised designs
  • Understand and support the instructional framework of a program through creative design solutions
  • Coordinate with Director, Marketing Services to identify visuals needed and schedules
  • Program planning and management
  • Assist with design specs for the product, packaging, and collateral
  • Adjust design specifications as needed
  • Monitor schedules and providing information for status reports
  • Make decisions that balance quality and budget concerns
  • Propose illustration and photographic approaches
  • Participate actively in the thumb-nailing process and creating page layout concepts
  • Work closely with marketing team to implement high quality, age-appropriate design collaborative development
  • Look for ways to streamline development processes
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to meet project milestones

You’d be a great fit for the role if you:

  • Minimum of 7 years of graphic design experience, preferably in ed tech
  • Solid visual graphic experience and demonstrated creative skills
  • Experience in a collaborative working environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
