DevOps Engineer

In this role, you have the opportunity to be responsible for performing highly complex and technical activities relating to software design, development, and documentation.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Shortens software development cycles and feedback loops through rapid release by providing related orchestration/automation (strategy, tools and support)
  • Provides necessary tools (e.g. Source control, CI/CD) for the development process. Develops build and deployment automation scripts
  • Designs, tests, and deploys the infrastructure for the software product
  • Collaborates with engineering to manage code releases
  • Supports troubleshooting during production operations (typically tier 3)
  • Develops methods and approaches for DevOps. Influences and educates units involved in the software development life cycle, focusing on design, test, and deployment from a DevOps perspective

Key Challenges include:

  • Design, implementation, and evaluation of Software technologies for use in Clinical Solutions projects.
  • Rapid prototyping, iteration & refinement to help solidify user requirements
  • Development of “clean code” that adheres to industry standards of professional coding patterns, form, and styles
  • Support internal customers within the business such as manufacturing, service and customer service

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor or Masters in CS or equivalent and 5-10 years experience in a technical domain related to/needed for DevOps
  • Technical Know-How: Has knowledge across all DevOps disciplines, some of it in-depth
  • Knowledge Sharing: Shares broader applied knowledge in and across teams
  • System complexity: Has full scope responsibility for moderate to complex tools / infrastructure elements / products at solution level
  • Innovation: Defines / redefines constructs at solution level
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in Azure DevOps
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in Atlassian Suite: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo
  • Proficiency in PowerShell
  • Proficiency of CD/CI concepts
  • Mastery of Git, Gitflow
  • Proficiency of at last one general-purpose programming language, e.g., C#.
  • Lean / Agile / SAFe
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preference to:

  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Experience with software development in a regulated industry
