Job description.

Huge is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department including: managing the month-end close process, financial reporting, preparing and reviewing account analyses, managing T&E/Concur/Amex and ensuring compliance with SOX and non-SOX controls. The Accounting Manager also provides support to the Controller. The right candidate will need to work well under pressure, deal with many different personalities and is an enthusiastic problem solver.

What you’ll be doing.

Management of Staff

Actively and effectively communicate with your team expected goals and accomplishments, ensuring that immediate and longer term tasks are undertaken with the appropriate prioritization and guidance.

  • Insist that employees ask questions if they are unsure of actions to take or prioritization of an item.
  • Timely report status of projects and issues encountered to the Controller.
  • Customer Service
  • Train staff to assess, set, communicate and maintain appropriate response times when assigned a task.
  • When addressing tasks, ensure the team provides appropriate on-site, email, or phone support, and with the appropriate prioritization, to customers, employees, affiliates and vendors. Team needs to follow up with appropriate personnel, provide status updates as to progress, and confirm and communicate execution of a task.

Day-to-day Accounting Department Operations

  • Subject Matter Expert – Understand the complete processes (system requirements, system limitations, forms, responsible parties, reporting capabilities, etc.) surrounding the General Ledger, System Interfaces, Vendor Set Up, Purchase Orders, Invoices, Payments and Systems Workflow.
  • Ensure that vendor invoices and check requests are processed timely.
  • Ensure that monthly recurring vendor charges – e.g. rent, utilities, Amex statements – are processed timely.
  • Review and report on A/P aging and provide an action plan in resolving old outstanding items.
  • Weekly review of g/l accounts.

Manage the month-end close process/Financial Reporting/Account Analyses

  • Assess staff processes to determine opportunities for efficiencies, with a particular eye on shortening the close cycle and improving the quality of output during the close cycle.
  • Have a solid understanding of GAAP, IPG’s Standard Policies and Procedures and the monthly close deadlines.
  • Set and manage deadlines for staff so that account reconciliations (Balance Sheet and P&L) are prepared, signed, dated, reviewed, approved, and filed timely (as defined in our SOX narratives).
  • Understand balances and movements in accounts in order to anticipate questions from management during the monthly review of financial statements.
  • Understanding and management of inter-company guidelines/deadlines for transaction processing, confirmation, and reporting.
  • Timely preparation of quarterly close checklist and monthly operating lease schedules.
  • Coordination and ownership to ensure timely/accurate submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements – both internal and external.

T&E/Concur/Amex

  • Be the subject matter expert for all issues associated with Concur /Amex and T&E processing and reporting.
  • Be a problem solver for employees that encounter Concur/Amex issues.
  • Report and follow up on delinquent credit card balances, unsubmitted Amex charges and Concur reports pending approval.

SOX Compliance

  • Act as primary point of contact with IPG, external auditors, and other departments within Huge for all SOX efforts.
  • For processes that are subject to SOX documentation/testing that are the responsibility of another control owner, assist with documentation and recommend improvements to internal controls and processes and ensure Huge’s compliance with SOX requirements. Develop and execute a periodic testing plan to ensure continued compliance.
  • For processes where you are the control owner, maintain and recommend improvements to internal controls and processes and ensure Huge’s compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Periodically review SOX requirements and status of documentation / testing with Controller.

What we’d like to see.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5-7 years of related experience in a mix of large and small companies.
  • Public accounting experience and/or CPA license a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and other business fundamentals.
  • Team player, customer service oriented and strong work ethic.
  • Self-reliant, ability to manage time and deadlines independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent software skills – general ledger systems such as SAP, Mediabank and Computron experience a plus.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office products – very high level of Excel required.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico, and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.

Wage Disclosure

$114,000—$130,000 USD
