Our CEO, Johnny Page, is a seasoned B2B SaaS executive who has led companies to remarkable success, notably growing Silvertrac from $30k MRR to $225k MRR and orchestrating its acquisition for 7.8x ARR. He now dedicates his expertise to helping ambitious B2B SaaS founders achieve their perfect exit.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the robustness of our financial infrastructure, optimizing processes, and providing accurate and timely financial data. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting high-level finance work, including infrastructure, tech stack, process optimizations, data and insights, compensation plans, corporate entity work, and tax planning. The ideal candidate will enable our Finance team to focus on strategic initiatives by ensuring that accounting and bookkeeping are flawlessly executed.

Here are the primary components of our Accounting Manager role:

Responsibilities & Success Metrics

  1. Financial Close Processes: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the books are accurately closed by the fifth business day following each month's end, and implementing a weekly soft close process for thorough review. We will measure success through SLA compliance on book closure and monitoring post-close error rates.
  2. Transaction Support and Compliance: The Accounting Manager will develop processes to ensure all transactions have documented support and approval chains that will pass an audit. Success will be measured by the transaction support compliance percentage.
  3. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, & Client Billing Requests: The Accounting Manager will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client billing. Additionally, they will collaborate with the tax team for the year-end close. Success metrics will be based on the proactive monitoring of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, client billing requests handled within one business day, and reduction of Accounts Receivable days sales outstanding (DSO).
  4. Tax Requirements: The Accounting Manager will oversee the completion of monthly and year-end tax preparation tasks, including HST and CRA filings. This includes preparing and submitting monthly HST filings and effectively coordinating with our external tax advisors on year-end financial statements and tax filings, as well as handling ad hoc external compliance requests. Success in this aspect of the role will be gauged by the accuracy and timeliness of tax preparation and filings, as well as the timeliness of addressing compliance requests.
  5. Process Improvement and Optimization: The Accounting Manager will identify and implement process improvements and automation within the department. Their success will be measured by the systems and processes put in place that will save both the Finance team and other stakeholders time.
  6. Leadership and Team Management: The Accounting Manager will actively manage and mentor two direct reports: a Revenue Accountant and a Finance Coordinator. The success of the Accounting Manager’s leadership will be measured by their proactive management and the efficiency of team operations.
