About your role

The Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in the team structure we deploy to provide the industry-best financial operations to our customers. You will ensure efficient delegation & management of accounting tasks & projects assigned to our Accounting Analyst team, mitigating delays and ensuring quality is maintained. You will directly impact the customer relationship by supporting and occasionally leading customer calls, as well as ensuring timely & quality management of email comms. You will provide the first level of accounting reviews, exercising your skill sets & education to see the “bigger picture” and conduct dynamic, insightful financial reviews of our customers’ books. You will touch a multitude of industries & develop a diverse set of accounting skills.

What you’ll do 

  • Accounting task/project management & execution
  • Review of Accounting Analyst work
  • Customer comms management & delegation
  • Leading customer calls
  • First-level financial reviews & supporting Accounting Manager final reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or actively pursuing)
  • 1-2 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • SMB accounting experience in multiple industries, particularly:
  • Saas
  • Professional services
  • E-commerce
  • 1-2 years experience in customer success-related roles
  • 1-2 years experience with Quickbooks Online
  • Experience with common SMB point solutions, such as:
  • Bill.com
  • Gusto
  • Shopify

Interview Process

At Decimal, we know the hiring process can be overwhelming and confusing, but we don't want you to feel that way! We want to be transparent with you so that you don't have to guess and you can focus on being your best self! As part of the interview process, we will dive into your career and past projects and get to know you a bit more. The interview process for the Associate Accounting Manager role consists of 5 rounds:

  1. 30-minute interview with one of our Recruiters
  2. 45-minute interview with one of our Team Leads
  3. Take Home Assessment
  4. 45-minute interview with our Associate Director
  5. 45-minute interview with the Department Director, Mitchell Oldenburg

Your recruiter will be your main point of contact and will keep you informed at every step of the process. If we decide to move to the final round of the process, we will also ask for references at that time.
