Associate Product Manager, Design System

We are seeking a hard-working Associate Product Manager to join a cross-functional Design System team, made up of designers and engineers, and focuses on developing and maintaining shared React components and shared design libraries, with emphasis on accessibility, responsiveness, and design consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be an Agile team leader.

  • Serve as a key member and collaborative leader of your cross-functional agile team to plan, develop, design, test, and deliver working software and content.
  • Establish and maintain Agile rituals (sprint planning, retrospectives, scrum, etc.) and accept completed work.
  • Prioritize your backlog, breakdown features into user stories and acceptance criteria, and elaborate on those stories for your team.
  • Manage the Design System’s Jira board and tickets.
  • Communicate across the organization.
  • Proactively connect with team members and Design System ‘consumers’ to ensure alignment with product vision and execution.
  • Track progress toward successful delivery. Raise issues, risks, and dependencies, and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Draft release notes, announcements, and training materials to support the release of new components and library updates.
  • Manage communications with the product teams who use the Design System’s components and tools.
  • Manage communications and reviews with the consultants who certify the accessibility of Amplify’s UI components and products.
  • Maintain collaborative workspaces (Figma, Miro, etc.)
  • Develop outstanding products.
  • Empathize with our users’ needs and be a hardworking advocate for their perspectives through all phases of design and development.
  • Conduct design research, identify problems, and validate improvements.
  • Understand the process of designing, specifying, and implementing accessible web applications. Be familiar with common design and interaction patterns.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience in a product management / project management role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with relevant software development life cycles, from concept to delivery
  • Experience with Agile design practices
  • Background in technology, design, or user experience

What we offer:

The gross salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000.
