The Opportunity
OpenText is looking for an Associate Software Engineer in Professional Services for Managed Services, Cloud Services organization. The Associate Software Engineer will be responsible for the Design, Development and Stabilization of complex technical business solutions for our Business Network Managed Services Platform Customers.
You Are Great At
- Interface with Solution Consultants and Global Architecture to transition new Sales activity into Deliverable solutions with confirmed project schedules
- Review and approve client requirements and design documentation with Sr Software Engineers, Architects, Solution Consultant and Project Managers
- Partner with our Global Software Engineers and Project Management to complete required technical tasks for Systems Integration deliverables
- Consult, Review and Approve Solution Design documents and Readiness Review artifacts
- Ensure quality of deliverables are within Service Levels and First Time Right attitude
- Successfully manage the technical tasks and keep the Project Manager and Client contact informed for all technical Deliverables
- Represent Software team for the Global Change Management process
- Champion Automation and Continuous Improvement initiatives for Cloud Services
What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science degree or equivalent discipline
- 1-2 years working experience in the field helpful but not required
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Critical thinking a must
- Knowledge or ability to learn Systems analysis, design, systems integration, and development
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, and programming skills. While this is not a Developer role, knowledge of scripting languages preferred with evidence from college or classes or side projects
- This individual must be flexible, adaptable, and possess the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Position requires some evening and weekend work on a scheduled basis.
- Ability to work independently and use knowledge that is acquired from formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one’s job
- Individual must be able to collaborate with others including non-technical resources
