Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio that is here to make the most fun games in the world. Not super fun games. Not SUPER DUPER fun games. We mean the MOST fun games. In fact, our game MARVEL SNAP has earned multiple Mobile Game of the Year Awards (Game Awards, DICE), Best Strategy Game (IGN), and the Apple Design Award for Innovation!
Second Dinner is a remote-first studio, so while we are headquartered in Irvine, California, most of our team is fully remote across the United States. Our Art Team
The Art Team drives the visual direction of our games and creates a cohesive and consistent experience. We strive to create the highest quality art and we’re always looking for ways to raise the bar! It’s our job as Game Artisans to create, refine, iterate, and help make our games look amazing! We partner with every part of the studio: design, engineering, production, data, product management, marketing, and audio to make the most fun and visually engaging experiences possible for our players!
Your Role
You’ll report to the Senior Art Director, and while this is primarily an implementation role, you’ll have an incredible opportunity to explore the many facets of game development including asset pipelines, optimization, proprietary tech development, and much more! The right person for this position is comfortable performing consistent implementation tasks, has a passion for art, and a knack for all things tech!
What You’ll Do:
- Implement assets across various art pipelines
- Take direction and execute changes that ensure in-game assets hit the defined quality bar, have proper functionality, and meet optimization goals
- Learn and utilize proprietary tools to create amazing assets
- Work hand-in-hand with the Art Outsource team to optimize implementation of assets from external artists
What You’ll Need:
- Ability to adapt and learn new technology to find solutions
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with artists, engineers, etc.
- Superb attention to detail
- The ability to manage large scale tasks across different pipelines
Nice to Have But Not Necessary:
- Advanced Unity, Photoshop, Illustrator skills
- Understanding of basic art fundamentals (Composition, Form, Perspective, Anatomy, Value & Lighting)
- Understanding of game engines, pipelines, and processes
- Excited by the Marvel IP
The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $60,000 - $90,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future. Your recruiter can answer any questions about new hire total compensation during the hiring process.
