Role Overview: Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an important part of our B2B SaaS/PaaS product. The content is typically in the form of documentation made available through our knowledge base and online product docs, but may also take the form of UI text, illustrations, sample product configurations, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the medium, technical writers are expected to explain complex topics in a way that helps users understand the product and, most importantly, helps them achieve their business goals and tasks with the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, write, and maintain technical documentation related to the BillingPlatform SaaS application for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Produce, edit, and curate instructive (how-to) content that will help customers better understand the platform and accomplish complex tasks with it
  • Proofread documents written by others
  • Collaborate with fellow technical writers, product managers, engineers, designers, implementation engineers, customer success staff, and other internal stakeholders in order to learn product functionality and ensure that documentation accurately and completely communicates to our customers how and why to use the product

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in writing, accounting, or a related field
  • Prefer prior experience in accounting or billing or a related market
  • Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing. Prefer native English language.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to readers in a helpful and informative manner
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in the billing space
  • Prefer knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience working with engineering teams to deliver software documentation on time within that process.
  • Prefer experience with common tool sets related to technical writing
