We are looking for a strong DevOps engineer with real-world AWS experience to join the Broadridge Investor Communication Services (ICS) development organization to migrate our core legacy services to AWS. This exciting effort is part of a major AWS transformation of Broadridge’s technology stack. In this position you will be responsible for software lifecycle automation, optimizing our AWS footprint, working with application teams to develop and maintain an AWS implementation for our new serverless platform, improving application deployment methodology (possibly by implementing the blue-green scenario for production), working with infrastructure teams to implement monitoring solutions, conducting root cause analysis for production incidents for our new services, and driving production resiliency improvements. The role will provide important inputs to technology management and business partners in defining, developing, and implementing hosting, monitoring, and production deployment solutions that have impact on improving the business.

This is a remote role where you will work off-site. Travel is limited and generally used for team learning and collaboration meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the evolution, development and integration of lifecycle automation tools
  • Provide hands-on experience in designing and implementing AWS environments
  • Develop Jenkins automation scripts
  • Development of Terraform and Chef automation for application deployments
  • Work with the application development to optimize AWS footprint, eliminate single points of failure, and achieve 24/7 availability
  • Design and implement production monitoring solutions
  • Execute root cause analysis of production incidents for our new services
  • Follow all Broadridge guidelines and best practices
  • Interface with in-house DevOps and cloud teams

Requirements:

  • Formal education in Computer Science (B.S. or M.S.)
  • 5+ years experience in AWS hosting architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of and experience with Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins
  • Experience with serverless technologies and transforming legacy applications to the serverless architecture
  • Strong hands-on development experience with distributed applications, RESTful services, authentication/authorization methodologies, and SQL databases
  • Strong track record designing and implementing hosting solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with versioning tools, continuous integration, and deployment automation
  • Experience in the Agile development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with root cause analysis for production incidents
  • Experience with production monitoring solutions
