Bag & Softgoods Developer

The Role

We are looking for someone in the Portland area to collaborate in person with the rest of our design team. Please only apply if you are around the Portland area or planning to move in the next 2-4 weeks.

Moment is building the largest, most trusted, marketplace for creators. More than an online store, we’re building a marketplace that carries everything you need for the entire creative journey. From gear to courses, to in-person experiences, to digital goods – if you love creating, Moment is the place for you.

We’re looking for a technical and highly functional bag developer to join our product team. We’ve expanded our bag line over the years from outdoor packs, to travel bags, to mobile slings and we’re looking for a full time bag developer who can take performance to the next level - weight, ergonimics, rugged-ability, comfort, ease of use, etc. You’ll collaborate closely with our internal design team to turn concepts into manufacturable products, working directly with suppliers to produce bags customers love. Think of this role as bringing the functional, engineering like prowess to the foundation of what we’ve started.

Keep in mind we are looking for someone who has collaborated with suppliers on the factory floor, turning bag designs and tech packs into real products. That means you’ve been there having to setup, troubleshoot, and test production bags to ensure they hit the original design intent. The more hands on experience making technical bags the better.

Lastly we are looking for someone who carries camera gear with them. Although our bags are universal, being able to carry camera gear in efficient ways is a core aspect of what we offer.

If you are into photography / filmmaking and love making bags, this role is for you.
