Position Summary:
Are you passionate about storytelling, be it research-driven journalistic think pieces or interview-centric human-interest stories? Are you ready to partner with an organization that recognizes the importance of great content and is devoted to using it to change work lives for the better?
This is your chance to use your carefully honed writing and research skills in Portuguese to create the kind of educational, inspirational, and entertaining online content that will captivate both jobseekers and the people responsible for hiring them.
Working directly with the INTL SEO Team you’ll have the opportunity to transform big data and analytical insights into compelling narratives, craft expertly researched stories around the future of the workplace, source, and interview movers and shakers in the career services industry, and try your hand at creating light-hearted viral content.
Ideate & Pitch: Work on a content hub to develop articles, infographics, etc. ideas based on established content calendars and newsworthy current events.
Research: Find sources and conduct interviews as needed, analyze large sets of data to pull out important quantitative facts, investigate career services topics to establish contextual histories and backstories, etc.
Write: Craft compelling narratives from proprietary data; chronicle the work triumphs of extraordinary jobseekers in regular blog posts; write engaging, shareable viral content.
Brand: Continue to update the BR tone of voice guidelines (including a glossary). Continue to update BR quality guidelines for BR SEO pages, with support from the SEO Lead and INTL Manager as well as the rest of our INTL content team.
Copyedit: Check freelance submissions for grammar, spelling, and syntax errors as well as factual accuracy, SEO best practice, and readability.
Requirements
Your daily tasks:
- Work with the INTL SEO Team to develop high-quality SEO content for a head term, category, job title, and specialty pages, such as CVs to improve search rankings.
- Build/ manage the building of new BR CVs.
- Write or rewrite key pages to SEO’s master tickets.
- Write Job Title pages to current briefs.
- Write Category pages to the current brief.
- Write meta for all BR pages updates: new & existing.
- Support the BR page production process, including using JIRA to raise tickets, and performing UAT.
Must-haves:
- Bilingual in Portuguese and English with native Portuguese proficiency.
- 2+ years experience as a writer, SEO writer or reporter.
- Ability to create/pitch articles ideas that are researched, relevant, and in line with content strategic goals.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of online writing best practices.
- Ability to meet and juggle multiple deadlines in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves:
- BR market-specific experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Writing, Portuguese, Journalism or a related field.
- Proficiency in WordPress.
- Copywriting experience, including the ability to craft an email, social media, and landing page copy.
- Career services and hiring industry expertise.
- Familiar with the tools of online marketing and the metrics used to evaluate digital content’s success.
