Job descriptionIn October 2020 the Firm announced a $30 billion commitment to advance racial equity. The Community Impact Team partners with business leaders across JPMC to address drivers of the racial wealth gap including affordable housing and homeownership, minority owned businesses, financial health, and workforce diversity. Our team governs, coordinates, tracks, and reports on the Firm's $30 billion commitment across JPMC's lines of business; provides localized insights to bring JPMC CEOs proximate to on the ground challenges facing Black, Latino, and Hispanic communities; and ensures national level commitments translate into city level strategies, activities, and impact.

We are seeking a talented Associate to be an integral part of this high visibility initiative, working to drive systemic and sustainable change toward greater racial equity. Due to the small size of the team, the Associate will have an opportunity to make an outsized impact and build a network a cross the team and with key partners across lines of business and corporate functions. Within the broader team book of work, this role will primarily support localization, ensuring we are driving impact in specific communities across the U.S. The Associate will help to develop and implement the strategy for local and sustainable engagement across key market types and manage the overall tracking and execution of city specific milestones and achievements. Additional responsibilities of the Associate will vary based on the interest of the individual and active projects / needs of the team at the time. The position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to be exposed to senior management, work in an environment of active mentorship and coaching, and gain exposure to other roles and lines of business in the company.

Areas of responsibility

  • Help to develop and manage the overall strategy and book of work for localization execution
  • Measure and track key project milestones and deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness of project completion
  • Escalate project issues and risks appropriately, and help drive them to resolution
  • Garner key insights from quantitative and qualitative market data to shape local strategies
  • Work collaboratively to identify and document best practices across markets, LOBs, and/or partner/staff functions, and drive implementation
  • Prepare executive presentations and communicate key insights from localization to senior leaders
  • Build relationships across lines of business and experience levels

Qualifications

  • Excellent academic credentials with an undergraduate degree in Business / Commerce (or related field) strongly preferred
  • Professional experience within a project / business management or corporate strategy role
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a structured/analytical approach to problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross functional teams
  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
  • Advanced understanding of MS Excel and PowerPoint
