Diverse Computing, Inc. is seeking highly motivated entry- to mid-level technical Business Analysts to join our team. This is an immediate opening, and it will be available to candidates seeking remote or hybrid (office/remote) working opportunities. This Business Analyst will be responsible for leading and executing complex business analysis activities. The focus of this position is to work closely with our criminal justice and public safety clients to fully understand their business processes and translate information into clear system requirements for the project team. Please note that this is NOT a data analyst type of position. Rather, this role requires the ability to understand complex technical and business processes, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and provide outstanding customer service. Responsibilities will also include interfacing with management to achieve project goals and objectives while supporting other members of the project team. We believe our project teams should be one step ahead, proactively asking questions and acting in the interest of the client as well as the company's success.

As a Business Analyst II, you will:

  • Assume leadership responsibilities as assigned by the project leader
  • Achieve project goals and objectives through project management team coordination
  • Engage in and produce quality analytical work and deliverables, including:
  • - Facilitating needs assessment and investigative gathering of business requirements from project stakeholders
  • - Strategic planning; risk identification and developing mitigation strategies
  • - Preparing for and leading status meetings
  • - Eliciting systems requirements and utilizing requirements matrices
  • - Defining elements of system design
  • - Developing process models, diagrams, BPMN, and mockups
  • - Tracking project tasks and action items
  • - Creating status reports
  • - Scheduling updates
  • - Creating test plans and scripts
  • Be responsible for learning DCI’s products, how to troubleshoot issues, interpret logs, and correct issues within those products
  • Perform quality assurance testing for Diverse Computing products, including system testing, reporting issues, coordinating with technical resources, and confirming that software issues are resolved prior to delivery to the client
  • Be committed to expanding your technical skills, including XML and XSLT
  • Support DCI customers through hosting DCI product system training sessions and workshops, both in-person and in online settings
  • Assist in the Agile/Scrum development process, including:
  • - Decomposing IT concepts into Scrum user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and mockups as necessary
  • - Assisting in managing and prioritizing product backlog
  • - Participating in Agile sprints, performing testing to ensure acceptance criteria are met

Requirements

This job might be for you, if you:

  • Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar degree program (related work experience may be substituted for educational requirement)
  • Have 3-5 yrs of professional experience
  • Have a strong understanding of information technology, database, and software development concepts
  • Have excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Have experience planning and facilitating project meetings
  • Have experience leading, coaching, and mentoring less experienced business analysts
  • Have experience working with technical team members to provide direction and clarification as needed
  • Have experience providing management-level reporting on project work
  • Are knowledgeable with Agile / Scrum
  • Have some experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, and data networks (this is desirable but not required)
  • Have knowledge of the public safety or criminal justice industry (this is desirable but not required)
  • Currently reside in one of these states: CO, CT, FL, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NY, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT
  • Can confidently pass rigorous fingerprint-based state and federal background screenings, as required by the nationwide agencies we work with (mandatory)
  • Do not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Are comfortable working remotely both autonomously and within a team
