SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Business Intelligence Developer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our business intelligence (BI) data and solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, gather, design, implement, and optimize BI tools, reports, and dashboards that empower decision-makers with timely and accurate information. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and business analysis, coupled with the ability to translate complex business and technology requirements into effective BI solutions.

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Data Modeling and ETL:
  1. Design and implement data models to support business requirements.
  2. Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Database/Data Warehouse Management:
  1. Manage and maintain databases (including data warehouse), ensuring data quality, security, and performance.
  2. Develop audits to measure the quality of data loaded into the data warehouse.
  3. Work with source systems’ data stewards to resolve any data quality issues.
  4. Create and maintain data governance strategy, policy, and standards.
  5. Focus on DevOps to deliver reliable BI solutions faster and to scale with the growing business.
  • Report and Dashboard Development:
  1. Create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  2. Customize and enhance existing reports to meet evolving business needs.
  • Business Analysis:
  1. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs.
  2. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Performance Optimization:
  1. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in BI solutions.
  2. Continuously monitor and improve the performance of BI reports and dashboards.
  • Documentation and Training:
  1. Document BI solutions, data models, and processes.
  2. Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and applications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
  • Strong data engineering skills.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or similar role.
  • Expert-level writing of SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and for analytics.
  • Strong expertise with SQL and non-SQL databases, cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and their related services (S3, BigQuery, etc.)
  • Experience working with modern coding languages and data exploration environments (e.g., Python or R Studio in Jupyter)
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Experience with AI and/or applied machine learning a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
