What we’re looking for…

The Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and will be a key member of the executive team. In addition to guiding all aspects of financial reporting and control, financial planning an analysis, treasury operations, banking relations, tax, audit, risk management and mergers & acquisitions, the CFO will be an active participant in shaping ScienceLogic’s overarching global growth strategy including expansion into new markets, identifying new sources of revenue and potential acquisitions. This is a multi-faceted role in a highly dynamic growth environment requiring an individual with well-developed business operations experience and familiarity with a wide range of business operational performance metrics.   This is a highly influential position and will play an integral role in advising the CEO and other key executives on potential exit strategies while building and instilling a healthy financial approach and facilitating the development of a holistic corporate vision.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Oversee all financial management issues, including Accounting, Budgets, Forecasting, Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis, Internal Controls, Governance, Financial Policy Development and Deployment, Tax, Banking, Lenders, Treasury, Audit, Insurance, M&A and Financial Systems.
  • Possess an outstanding understanding of financial and accounting (GAAP) rules and regulations.
  • Formulate IPO preparedness plans and have a strong grasp on relevant SEC rules and regulations regarding the IPO process
  • Develop and communicate “state of the business” reports to senior management and the Board.
  • Ensure credibility with the investment and lender community.
  • Deliver results meeting financial and strategic objectives of the business.
  • Drive business performance, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders to establish and effectively deploy strategic plans for the entire business.
  • Ensure leaders have timely data and reporting needed to measure performance and the effectiveness and impact of improvement initiatives, and the analysis needed to understand and address gaps.
  • Ensure a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant financial and accounting standards as well as all applicable laws, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a strong, collaborative, solution-oriented member of the leadership team, and as a thought partner to the CEO.
  • Provide sound leadership to the finance function.

Qualities you possess…

We seek a highly regarded senior financial executive with extensive experience in a complex environment. More specifically, the successful candidate is expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Must have 10+ years finance experience, with at least 5 years as the senior leader of a medium-size or larger business.
  • Familiarity with capabilities of contemporary tools and innovative approaches to provide managers with a breadth of data, reporting, and analytical support strongly preferred.
  • Well-developed financial planning and analysis skills, treasury management, tax, and audit experience preferred.
  • Leveraging highly effective communications skills in transactions with commercial banks and other external shareholders
  • Proven record in developing effective financial processes and controls
  • Prefer experience integrating new or existing divisions or acquired companies from a financial and systems point of view.
  • Collaborative team player and consensus builder with a distinct "hands-on-mentality" being able to successfully solve operational as well as strategic challenges.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in implementing and managing rigorous, disciplined financial controls, financial management systems, and enterprise efficiency and performance measures.
  • Strong personal leadership qualities; a track record of recruiting, motivating and developing a capable finance team.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically, with a bias for action and outcomes ,.
  • Possessing significant experience partnering with business and functional leaders, and the President/CEO, to drive performance and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills, managing, developing and mentoring teams 
  • Experience working in a growing B2B software subscription environment strongly preferred. 
  • Public company experience and/or, IPO readiness experience is a plus 
  • Experience scaling a finance operation 30% + growth in annual revenues. 
  • Previous experience working with and presenting to C-level and Board of Directors 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong communication, influential and executive presentation skills 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines. 
  • Merger and acquisition finance experience, as the company considers strategic acquisitions.
