The Role:

BrandCycle is looking to bring on a Chief of Staff for a 100% remote position. This role will work closely with both the BrandCycle and StackCommerce leadership teams to oversee all operational, non-sales, and non-client-facing activities related to the BrandCycle business. This individual will be a point person in key business decisions and will be the gate-keeper for finance, human resources, project management and ad hoc projects related to the company’s growth. This is a great opportunity for a business savvy individual to leverage their strong analytic, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills to get in with a fast-growing team at a pivotal time in the company’s history.

What You'll Do:

  • StackCommerce-BrandCycle Liaison: Act as the cross-functional point-person for all StackCommerce/BrandCycle integrated activities, projects and reporting. This includes, but is not limited to, board decks, financial reporting, marketing/branding initiatives and technical projects that straddle both teams.
  • Hiring, Training and Vendor Management: Work closely with HR and the BrandCycle leadership team to source, interview, hire and train new members of the growing BrandCycle team. Manage the business relationships for all external contractors, vendors and 1099s.
  • Finance & Accounting Coordination: Act as the gatekeeper to all financial reporting, bookkeeping, publisher payments and brand insertion orders. This role will act as the liason between the BrandCycle account team, BrandCycle’s payment team, Stack’s finance team as well as our external bookkeepers and accountants. 
  • Meeting, Planning and Goal Tracking: Own all relevant internal calls and agendas relating to all-team syncs, quarterly and yearly planning, weekly team check-ins, goal tracking and more. 
  • Project Management: Be the key point-person for any and all new special initiatives and projects. This includes organizing ideas, people, time, documentation and resources necessary. 
  • Product Management: Work closely with the leadership team and technical team to help scope, source, document and prioritize all technical initiatives.  
  • Trusted Advisor: Be a trusted advisor to the BrandCycle and StackCommerce leadership teams helping in any ad hoc strategic initiatives that will help drive the company forward. 

What You'll Bring:

  • Hard Skills
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an operational or Chief of Staff role at a start-up or rapidly growing company.  
  • Previous experience in Digital Media, MarTech and/or E-Commerce a big plus! 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA may be an advantage, but not required.
  • Highly proficient with Google Suites, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Quickbooks.
  • Soft Skills
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excels at effectively communicating complex concepts concisely, clearly and diplomatically across all teams and to senior executives.
  • Organized – Highly structured with a strong attention to detail. Excels at following up and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. 
  • “Get Stuff Done” Attitude - Enjoys solving any task thrown their way. Has a “jack-of-all-trades” skillset. 
  • Self-Starter and Finisher – Independently sees where improvements can be made and takes action needed to solve it. Can see a process through from start to finish autonomously.
  • Project Management – Has demonstrated success leading complex projects and / or programs across teams or organizations. Excels at prioritizing and delegating.
  • Financial Prowess - Skilled in running basic financial operations and reporting, experience with budgeting, negotiating and P&L management.
  • People Person – Loves working and collaborating with other team members. Has the highest level of integrity.

  • Homework Assignment: We will send over a quick writing exercise that challenges you to solve a problem and come up with creative solutions. Get a feel for what you’ll be doing on a daily basis!
  • Remote-Team Interview: You’ll be meeting with 2-3 team members on a video call. This is your chance to ask questions and see who this role interacts with on a daily basis.
  • Final Video Call: This is a great opportunity to get to know our COO or CEO over video.
