Steadily is an insurance technology company that specializes in rental property insurance for landlords. We’re three years old, just over 100 people, manage $6B in risk, and are intent on becoming the world’s best and largest insurer of rental properties.

We exist to deliver fast, affordable insurance and to pay claims quickly and fairly. To deliver on that commitment, we are building an elite claims team dead set on delivering a best-in-class experience for our customers.

Steadily is hiring a Claims Adjuster who will be responsible for helping launch our internal claims operation. If you thrive on ambiguity and lofty goals, this is the role for you. This is an opportunity to bend the growth curve on your career and get exposure that could take decades at more established companies.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish new claims by taking customer’s First Notice of Loss
  • Request appraisals, estimates, cause & origin reports, and various other reports to assist in the investigation of the claim
  • Review policy contract and determine if coverage is applicable for reported loss
  • Communicate with customers using their preferred channel of communication (phone, text, email, mail)
  • Review estimates and reports and issue payments as owed under the policy contract
  • Adjust claim files which should exceed the expectations of internal/external auditor scrutiny, including ample documentation, regular diary entries, and quality application of coverage, and compliance with all claims related laws and regulations
  • If there is a catastrophe, you will be responsible for helping the entire team in an all-hands-on-deck approach. It could lead to working seven days a week for months to ensure an excellent experience for impacted customers
  • Assist in evaluating new vendors, establishing workflows, and building claims processes
  • Secure all of the licenses needed to adjust claims in all 50 states including California and Hawaii.

Your Background

  • Experienced: You must possess at least 2 years experience adjusting P&C insurance claims. You’re a property claims savant. Experience in homeowners, condo, and landlord insurance is a plus.
  • Nice to have: You are also knowledgeable on 3rd party claims and 1st party litigation. AIC and/or ARM is a plus.
  • Self-Driven: You thrive under intense pressure and can manage a large workload. There is no task too small or beneath you; “that’s not my job” is not in your mantra. You are resourceful and will run through walls to get stuff done.
  • Insurance: Extensive knowledge of standard claims practices, estimating, claims processes, coverage application, subrogation, SIU and everything in between. Bonus if you have experience in subrogation, fraud investigation, or property damage estimating.
  • Project Management: As part of this role, you may be asked to assist in projects. Prior project experience is a plus.
  • Hungry: You want to make the leap into an earlier-stage tech company to rapidly accelerate your growth. You want to roll up your sleeves and hustle – you are not looking for a traditional 9-5 job.
