About The Role

The Cloud Configuration Manager supports various tasks leading a team and activities relating to change and configuration management processes, including: (1) processing and tracking of change requests submitted by customers within established service-level agreements, (2) status accounting and reporting of metrics, and (3) developing material to support implementation and execution of processes.

You will use of Atlassian tools (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence) to complete daily tasks and execute against established configuration management processes, serve as the Change Control Board (CCB) secretary responsible for executing Change/Configuration Management processes, maintaining CCB minutes, tracking of post-meeting action items, documenting final disposition and implementation actions, and tracking of any related actions.

You will

  • Facilitate the configuration management process while providing excellent customer service
  • Process change requests submitted by the customer while following configuration management processes
  • Work with customers, subject matter experts, and systems engineers to complete requirements gathering for change requests.
  • Support tracking relevant metrics by maintaining and ensuring the data’s integrity and fidelity within configuration management tools, e.g. JIRA.
  • Prepare for and support process assessments and change control audits, as required.
  • Recommend and implement new technology/enhancements to configuration management processes and/or configuration management tools.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for the configuration management processes
  • Develop training material and conduct training sessions for configuration management processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with ten-years’ professional experience or a total of eighteen-years’ professional experience in lieu of education.
  • Ten-years’ IT Operations processes experience
  • Seven-years’ experience with cloud configuration management processes that includes change control board management, change request management, and status accounting and reporting
  • Three-years’ experience leading/mentoring others in Change/Configuration management activities
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage and prioritize daily tasks using independent judgement based on organizational goals and established processes
  • Experience in the automation deployment of software pipelines for development, test, and production in a cloud environment like AWS and Azure
  • Experience with DevOps tools (like Jenkins, SonarQube, and Consul) and Container Technologies (like Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to negotiate requests to meet organizational goals and customer requests in a timely manner
  • Experience with performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions including support of change requests
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical terminology into terms understood by stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience with administration of Atlassian tools, including management of project permissions, field configuration schemes, workflows, and screen schemes
  • Familiarity with Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development best practices

  • Experience with supporting applications in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge and ability to analyze tickets and generate reports showing trends, issues and areas for improvement

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Configuration Management within PaaS and IaaS environments
  • Familiarity with Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development best practices.

NOTE: Standard support hours are between 7am to 9pm EST. This work will include on-call support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as required.
