CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (REMOTE)

Parsons is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. The candidate will work alongside other cloud professionals as a part of the Corporate Infrastructure, Architecture, and Operations Team reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Cloud Manager. The focus of the work is designing and automating the configuration of public cloud environments such as Azure and AWS and connecting them to on-prem enterprise environments.
The critical aspect of this job will be to innovate, plan, build, automate, and sustain public cloud environments for both internal corporate and external project use. The candidate should be familiar with public cloud infrastructure such as Azure and AWS and be open minded to exploring other new and emerging technologies. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with Cybersecurity personnel, other IT engineers, architects, and diverse end-users on a geographically distributed team.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
- Identifies and resolves problems related to public cloud infrastructure in a timely manner and analyzes information skillfully.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code to build and maintain public cloud environments.
- Update and maintain git repositories
- Focuses on solving technical problems in a fast-paced environment
- Contributes to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices through participation in team meetings and other direct contributions.
- Provides technical guidance and end user training.
- Initiates professionalism, excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Works independently as well as in a cooperative team environment.
- Demonstrates fast and independent learning capabilities.
- Some travel to offices in other regions may be required (10%).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience and knowledge of public cloud (Azure and AWS)
- Ability to automate with Infrastructure as Code using a variety of technology types (ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
- Cross-functional IT expertise (storage, network and database infrastructure)
- Strong experience with both Windows and Linux servers
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud compute and storage technologies used with Azure (Disk, Blob, Files) and AWS (EBS, EFS, S3)
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud networking architecture used with Azure (vNet, load balancers, Virtual WAN, VPN, Express Route) and AWS (VPC, load balancers, transit gateway, VPN, Direct Connect)
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud identity and access management methods
- Excellent documentation, intercommunication, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
DESIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Good Understanding and implementation of ITIL concepts
- Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
- Artifact binary repository management
- Extensive scripting experience (Bash, Ansible, Python, Groovy, Powershell, etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Knowledge of configuration file types (YAML, JSON)
- Familiar with DevOps practices
- Have a strong sense of networking in public cloud
