About the Position:
We iterate quickly in a multi-account cloud architecture, with numerous data sources and models – that’s where you come in. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will impact the design and implementation of our solutions, focusing on the application first and utilizing current AWS serverless best practices. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability and performance of all our products, keeping cost in mind.
Our ideal candidate has a background delivering solutions to business problems as part of a fast paced team. You’ll work closely with our entire product engineering team to architect and implement our growing product portfolio. About You:
- You have direct experience in the software development lifecycle, especially in build, deployment, version control, and configuration of applications using modern best practices.
- You are energized by the pace of a startup and solving complex problems
- You have been an advocate for Cloud Engineering best practices in an evolving engineering organization with a passion for infrastructure and architecture design
- You are a self starter that places high value on outcome over output, aligning yourself with the common goals of the team and the business
- You are curious and in tune with new trends and technologies in the software development world.
- You like to work collaboratively with developers, data scientists and UX teams to improve the performance and resiliency of the products you’re releasing.
- You have working knowledge of all aspects of data modeling, service performance and security.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on good technical writing.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in design and implementation of serverless cloud solutions leveraging virtualization and/or containerization strategies and technologies (Docker, Lambda) for a scaling organization
- 2+ years of professional experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Cloudformation or Terraform)
- 2+ years of hands on experience with DevOps technologies (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins)
- Significant professional experience with AWS cloud architecture, including products such RDS, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway.
Preferred Qualifications for success in this role:
- Demonstrated hands on software development projects in Python or TypeScript
- AWS infrastructure modeling tools using CDK
- Experience working in highly regulated industries like finance, health care or defense
- Understanding of networking and network design principles including building highly available and scalable infrastructure
- Experience working in an Agile team
