Assurance is seeking a Content Editor, responsible for upholding editorial standards, keeping up production volume and pace, and launching new articles with a goal of generating traffic for Assurance.com.

In this role you will develop, craft, and refine article copy to ensure reader comprehension and engagement.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic relationship-driven team player with an impressive track record of working with breaking down complex topics into digestible articles.

This role is hybrid if you are in the Seattle area, with the team working in Seattle HQ Tuesday and Thursdays. Remote applicants are also welcome.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with SEO Content team to research and craft instructions for article creation.
  • Provide timely and actionable feedback to freelance writers to improve their assignment quality.
  • Uphold editorial standards, including Style Guide and Compliance needs.
  • Edit written assignments for clarity, flow, and comprehension; average of 1,000-2,000 words per article.
  • Implement SEO best practices.
  • Prepare and publish completed assignments on Wordpress CMS.
  • Meet or exceed monthly production KPIs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience using Wordpress as a web publishing CMS required.
  • 2+ years of web content editing and copyediting experience required, preferably in insurance or finance content.
  • Some professional writing experience required; please have writing samples ready.
  • SEO experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with freelance writers is preferred.
  • Professional writing experience is preferred.
  • Basic HTML knowledge is preferred.
  • Thrives in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Thrives working both independently and collaboratively with close team.

NOTE: Assurance is required by multiple state and city laws to include the salary range on position postings when hiring in those specific locals. The salary range for this position will be between $63,000 and $94,000 and may be eligible for additional bonus or commission plans + benefits. Eligibility to participate in the bonus or commission plans is subject to the rules governing those programs, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and/or organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
