Job description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

PickFu is a consumer research software company that helps businesses and people gather real-time consumer feedback to make better-informed decisions about their products, designs, marketing, and more.

We are looking for an experienced Content Editor to join our marketing team. Your primary responsibilities will be: copy editing and fact checking educational articles for the PickFu blog; writing relevant, SEO-friendly headlines and meta descriptions; and publishing content in WordPress. This position will start around 10 hours per week with potential to become a full-time role as we build momentum.

You will be joining a team that believes in honest tactics, high standards, and data-driven decision making. We value quality, integrity, and people over a quick profit. We pride ourselves on high-quality content, excellent customer service, and a product that can sell itself — and need you to help us get the word out.

Job requirements

ABOUT YOU

  • You have strong editorial judgment. You have 3+ years of experience editing and publishing content, and a portfolio to back it up. You have a working knowledge of Associated Press style. Journalism background is a plus.
  • You care about the details. You’re meticulous about grammar, punctuation, clarity, and accuracy. You know when and where to cut the fluff.
  • You can tell a good story. You understand our product and audience. You know how to shape content in the PickFu voice. You can make a technical article easy to understand for our readers.
  • You’re a people person. We love our customers, but we also like the people we work with. As a member of the team, you will be a part of a dynamic, startup environment where you’ll help contribute to the success and culture of the company.
  • Location: We are a remote-work company so you can be anywhere, but there should be some overlap with US hours (EST/PST). We work mostly asynchronously, so it’s important you can work independently.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience marketing to a global customer base or in the B2B/SaaS space.
  • Familiarity with online tools including WordPress, Airtable, Canva, Notion, and Slack.
  • Comfortable working with diverse colleagues from different countries.
  • Worked remotely before, or know that you’d work well with a remote team.

APPLICATION PROCESS

We will begin reviewing applications on a rolling basis. Our hiring committee looks at every resume, so please be patient with us. We receive hundreds of applications for each role, so unfortunately, our team is unable to provide individual feedback.

We understand that this can be a long process, so we want to make interview expectations as transparent as possible. The first interview will be a 30-minute call with the hiring manager and operations manager, followed by a short editing assignment. Finalists will be asked to meet with our co-founders for a 30-minute interview. We promise that there won’t be any tricks or twists along the way.

At PickFu, we value diversity. We strongly encourage candidates of all different backgrounds and identities to apply.
