Progress is looking for a confident, charismatic and experienced communicator to join our team. As the Content Manager/Lead Writer, you will oversee and execute an effective content strategy, develop various written assets and manage an asset library that supports the Progress brand and extensive product portfolio. You will assume an editor role for various written assets, apply content strategies that creatively amplify and strengthen our brand and leading-edge technology.

We are looking for someone with a creative mind that knows how to tell compelling stories. Someone with exceptional writing prowess, project management expertise, people management skills and an analytical mind that can partner with Marketing, Communications and key stakeholders to gain maximum value from creative content and assets. This role requires an expert command of grammar and style, including the desire to create processes that help non-writers access and implement accurate messaging. You must have a proven record of creating content strategies and engaging messaging and be able to thrive in a high-volume environment, working across global teams and channels to deliver bar-raising content.

What You Will Do in This Role

  • With extreme attention to detail, write and copyedit compelling product/marketing materials including thought leadership, whitepapers, case studies, web content, product blogs, sales sheets and more
  • Partner/collaborate with members of Corporate Marketing and Product Marketing teams on asset creation, utilization and measurement
  • Contribute to and guide others in brand messaging, style guidelines and tone of voice
  • Ghost writing for key executives
  • Partner with PR to ensure alignment on news and thought leadership
  • Establish reports and dashboards to analyze content effectiveness
  • Be viewed as a trusted, approachable and reliable source and writing/content expert
  • Lead the Writing Team, ensuring top-quality output and provide critical career development and mentorship

A Strong Candidate

  • Loves writing; advanced copywriting/editing skills and possesses outstanding attention to detail
  • Translates complex concepts into clear and concise communications targeted to the right audiences using the right media
  • Expresses flexibility and adaptability when writing for different voices in both style and preference
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills and collaborates well across a diverse group of stakeholders, including executive leadership and employees at all levels and global locations
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, stays organized and effectively prioritizes
  • Initiative, ambition, self-direction and critical thinking skills
  • Understands the corporate marketing function, content optimization and SEO
  • 7+ years of experience in content marketing, communications, journalism or relevant field
  • Possesses the ability to manage, mentor and guide a team of writers
  • Experience in B2B tech
