Content Marketing Manager

About the Role:

StarTree is seeking an experienced Content Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing organization. This position will report to the Director of Product Marketing and have a passion for communicating with audiences in engaging, inspired, and creative ways, coupled with experience driving multi-channel marketing campaigns. The person in this role has expertise in building and developing compelling and cohesive narratives across multiple media and marketing touch points. You know how to both amplify and optimize content in a way that helps move our business forward, connect with our key audiences, increase brand affinity, and drive key marketing KPIs from engagement to MQLs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a corporate storyteller to ensure our brand, our products and services, and our organization are understandable, memorable, appealing, engaging and compelling to prospects in our target audiences of prospects and existing customers.
  • Generate content. You will have to produce or lead the production of content in a wide variety of formats whether written material (blogs, case studies, white papers, benchmarks, glossaries), visuals (infographics, architectural block diagrams, charts and tables), and/or video production (webinars, video or animated, explainers, podcasts).
  • Develop close working relationships with other marketing practice areas such as product marketing, demand generation, marketing operations, web and design functions, video production, plus corporate communications. (For example, you may need to provide a rough sketch and work with a graphic designer to generate finished graphics for a blog or whitepaper).
  • Work with engineering and product technical subject matter experts (SMEs). You may have to edit the works of these SMEs (such as their draft blogs), or interview them and generate the content on their behalf.
  • Work with customers, conducting interviews to write up case studies and blogs, or to assist them in generating or editing slides for a webinar or public presentation.
  • Work with partners to generate and align co-marketing messaging. This could result in various work output, including web pages, solutions briefs, presentations and webinar materials, and explainer videos.
  • Work flexibly and creatively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, across multiple subject matters, at once while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Conceive and develop creative B2B content-based marketing programs that drive core narratives across the business and marketing channels, ensuring cohesion and impact through the B2B marketing funnel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, product) to define, design, and implement messaging strategies across the funnel.
  • Integrate appropriate calls-to-action (CTAs) across content, ensuring it performs and contributes directly to the sales funnel.
  • Drive the amplification and mutual support of content, campaigns and strategic messaging through different marketing channels, from web to social to email while also ensuring content optimization, leveraging tools like SEO to make content work hard.
  • Refresh and repurpose existing content, whether updating an outdated page on the website, or taking a webinar video and turning its transcription and slides into a compelling blog. Or taking a blog that has appeared on our corporate website and rewriting and recontextualizing it for placement on an external website.
  • Champion the measurement of content optimization, tracking and reporting closely on KPIs and adjusting as needed.
  • Apply user & industry research to development of messaging strategies.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends, tools, and best practices in terms of content marketing and content strategy.
  • Help the organization understand the role and value of content strategy and what problems it solves for them.
  • Maintain internal-facing communications, such as web pages, project tracking resources and team meeting documents.
  • Apply industry-specific compliance standards and regulation to messaging strategy.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in developing content-based marketing programs for B2B services.
  • 3+ years of experience cross-functionally managing projects.
  • 3+ years of product marketing or product public relations experience.
  • A sophisticated appreciation of the intersection of content and design and the part each plays in communicating effectively.
  • A passion for the creative process and an understanding of what it takes to go from idea to reality with an exceptional portfolio.
  • Experience in real-time analytics databases, online analytical processing (OLAP) databases, data warehousing, data streaming, stream processing, Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS), SQL/NoSQL, and other related technologies are strongly preferred.

*The base salary range for this US full-time position is $125,000 - $195,000, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. Additionally, new hires receive competitive and compelling equity grants, and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates.
