Summary:
A successful candidate will be an engaged, innovative, and growth-oriented technical writer who is proactive and wants to change the world with great communications and documentation. The successful candidate will author and edit blogs and other communications-related collateral seeking information from multiple key contributors, ensuring professional, clear writing that informs customers of security risks also builds customer trust in Microsoft security.
Typical Day in the Role:
- Key projects – Blog related to security and privacy events
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm – submitting final drafts, revising blog strategies, blog writing for security issues for the company

- What makes this role interesting? – Making an impact with a global company and being at the center of communications for Microsoft’s response to critical issues impacting the industry
- Unique Selling Points – There is a lot of impact and dealing with issues that regularly require SLT review and approval

- English or Marketing degree.
- Cyber security certification.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience:
1. Editing | 2-3 years
2. Security experience | 2-3 years
3. Blog publishing experience | 2-3 years
Summary of responsibilities:
Author and revise initial drafts of customer-facing content for blogs related to security and privacy events.
- Identify gaps in the content and drive stakeholders to close gaps.
- Submit a final draft for review.
- Address feedback from reviews.
- Review changes with stakeholders.
- Submit a final version for publication.
Deliverables:
- Weekly report of blogs in the process
- At least five (5) published blogs
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience in NIST CSF & SP00-61R2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI, SOC 2
- Professional technical writing certifications (CTP, CPTC, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience
The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $40 to $44 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match.
