Contracts Attorney
This position offers an opportunity for an outstanding junior attorney to join the legal department at an established, later stage, biotechnology startup. The Contracts Counsel will provide general commercial legal support on all contract and transactional aspects of the business and work closely with our business teams to contribute to the company’s financial and operational success along with managing our contract database, LinkSquares.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a direct legal advisor to all business units regarding corporate, commercial, transactional and contract matters
- Draft, review and revise contracts for all aspects of the business including, but not limited to: vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, supply agreements, consulting agreements, master service agreements
- Participate with internal clients and third parties in commercial negotiations
- Assist with other transactional matters as necessary
- Maintain template agreements and the internal contract management system
About You:
- Holds Bachelors and Juris Doctor (JD) degrees with strong academic credentials, science background preferred
- Has a minimum of 2+ years of transactional and contract drafting and negotiating experience at a mid- to large-sized law firm and/or established company
- Is a member in good standing of a state bar association, CA preferred
- Experience working with Master Service Agreements, Contract Manufacturing Agreements, Quality Agreements and particularly GMP agreements preferred
- Capable of handling multiple and competing workloads with changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Able to work independently but know when to involve others or ask for guidance
- Works effectively with all levels of the organization
- Experience working in-house at a life sciences company or the life sciences group at a law firm is a plus but not required
- Experience with/understanding of intellectual property preferred

Additional Information:
- Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Infrequent overnight travel.
$110,000 - $140,000 a year
