About the Opportunity
Bitwave is looking for a Controller in a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, while also driving process improvements and implementing best practices to increase efficiency and scalability. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with a deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing accounting team. Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations: Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP. Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to management and other stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of the annual budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to management based on analysis of financial results.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including tax and financial reporting requirements. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a strong system of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Lead SOC report processes.
- Accounting Software Systems: Evaluate and improve the company's accounting software systems to ensure they meet the needs of the business. Implement new systems and processes as needed to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve accounting and financial processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least three years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience in a SaaS company or technology industry preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with or professional experience with digital assets (we are a company that works in the digital asset-space, so even if you don't have direct experience on a professional level, a strong enthusiasm for crypto, NFTs, etc. is a huge advantage.)
