Controller
This position will oversee daily operations of the accounting department in a fast-paced and fast growing environment. With offices in Boston MA and Turin, Italy, as well as remote employees throughout the globe, the Controller must have experience managing international accounting operations and ensuring compliance with all necessary laws.
This position requires strong technical accounting skills, experience with automation and integration of financial and operational systems, financial and statutory reporting, tax operations, and the design and maintenance of adequate systems and controls. Must be a “self-starter” with a problem-solver attitude and pay close attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting activities to include reporting of the company's financials in accordance with US GAAP, regulatory guidelines, and international requirements.
- Manage Bookings, Billings and monthly Revenue Recognition in accordance with ASC606 as well as oversight of AR and Deferred Revenue accounts
- Responsible for Month end close and consolidation of financial statements (US HQ and international subsidiaries), including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation and analysis with assistance of Bookkeeper
- Produces annual budget and forecast; provides financial analysis and reports on significant budget differences to the Executive Team
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to Executive team by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points; calculate and issue financial metrics
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
- Familiarity with Startup work environments and passion for taking initiatives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial, collaborative work environments
- Sharp attention to detail with self-motivation with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- High level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and having impact, deep interest in problem solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Prior experience using Quickbooks, Gusto, Atlassian, Breezy HR
- Degree in finance or accounting
- Prior experience with selection and implementation of ERP systems and driving process improvement with systems integration and optimization required.
- Strong preference for New England location. East Coast Working hours.
