The key aim of the central marketing team is to tell the Moody’s Analytics story and be consistent in our approach. We use contemporary marketing techniques and technology to deliver business growth. We originate thought leadership content as well as providing expertise in digital marketing and event planning, to promote engagement between our company and our customers. Our team is made up of focused, creative people who value relationship-building.

We're looking for a Copy Editor with strong B2B marketing skills (tech experience a plus) to support marketing initiatives for an exciting high-tech brand. This editor will work alongside internal writers, and partner with a variety of stakeholders, including subject matter experts, product marketers/managers, SEO and others to ensure all content is consistent, error-free and on-brand. While adhering to marketing strategies and objectives, this individual will have the ability proofread copy for brand voice, tone, readability, accuracy, clarity, correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency of content / format. 

The copy editor will work with a core writing team that delegates and oversees writing and editing assignments often under tight deadlines. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and must be able to take technical content and edit so that it is readable and easy to understand for multiple audiences.

 What you'll do: 

  • Make sure copy is error free and tone is “on brand” and adheres to corporate editorial guidelines and brand style guide
  • Edit a variety of content types, including white papers, articles, campaigns, product brochures, digital media, landing pages, video scripts, presentations, and infographics
  • Ensure best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style
  • Manage and maintain standard operational frameworks, including editorial style guide, and ensure writers across the organization are trained and adhere to its principles
  • Identify documents in need of additional work around content or logic, and engage appropriate stakeholders for rewrite
  • Collaborate with SEO and digital teams to ensure best practices are incorporated into content with focus engagement / performance

 What you've got:

  1. 5+ years’ writing or editing in an advertising or public relations agency, marketing firm, in-house communications team, or in a freelance capacity
  2. Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Advertising, or Journalism (or relevant field) preferred
  3. Experience with tech or finance industry a strong plus
  4. Rock-solid proofing, and editing skills in English
  5. Knowledge of Associated Press style; willingness to become an expert on Moody's style
  6. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and produce the highest quality work under tight deadlines
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, positive attitude, and experience working with executive-level clients
  8. A portfolio of any mix of published articles, white papers, advertising campaigns and digital work including email, website, and social campaigns. Can also share video, broadcast, and print samples

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is  [[$67,000]] to  [[$105,000]] , depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
