Attention Applicants: Please be vigilant when receiving, reviewing, or responding to emails from TrendyMinds regarding your application. Legit correspondence will be handled through our HR platform, NOT a TrendyMinds email address.

As a member of our Content Studio, the Copywriter is responsible for providing content writing and editing support across a variety of industries (e.g., healthcare and tech/SaaS) as well as tactics and channels (e.g., email marketing journeys, social media posts, digital ads, direct mail, and more), while learning about the agency business, assigned clients, and various industries.

The Copywriter is a marketing-minded professional, which means this person can write and edit results-driven content that hits our clients' marketing and business goals, no matter the channel. This person produces high-quality, audience-focused, creative content that is on brand and reflects an accurate, intelligent picture of the client and their industry.

As a remote team member, the Copywriter manages their own schedule, stays calm under pressure, brings intriguing ideas to the table, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This person can remain flexible and independent, without someone constantly looking over their shoulder. They are also proactive in identifying, owning, and solving client-facing and internal process problems.

The Copywriter listens empathetically and communicates confidently with our clients and our internal team members. They step outside of their comfort zone, respectfully support their work, and navigate challenging conflicts with professionalism, all while enhancing their skills and pushing the Content Studio forward.

Responsibilities

Here are some, but not necessarily all, of the Copywriter’s responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality (i.e., error-free), on-brand, results-driven, tactical content, and support content strategies for small projects within an account.
  • Demonstrate and enhance knowledge of multiple content disciplines (e.g., web, social media, paid/digital ads, email, etc.).
  • Attend project meetings and check-ins and, when assigned, support larger strategy sessions.
  • Develop and maintain a working-level understanding of assigned clients' industries, company cultures, products and services, content strategies, and brand guidelines. This role may be dedicated to one or more clients.
  • Conduct subject matter expert (SME) interviews, when appropriate, to enhance the quality of content writing.
  • Organize and track all assigned tasks and related timelines for small projects, and aim to hit utilization goals as related to our Inspired Impact Plan (IIP).
  • Understand and use content-related tools, platforms, and guides to enhance client work (e.g., GatherContent, SEMrush, Google Analytics, clients’ brand guidelines, etc.).
  • Collaborate directly with other Studios (such as Design Studio) and Industries groups (account leads) to effectively execute assigned projects.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented eye during the review process to raise the bar for client work. In addition, review, interpret, and respond to client feedback in a constructive, forward-thinking manner.
  • Be able to clearly articulate your plans or rationale for your content-related decisions. In other words, know why you made certain content decisions and understand how they support the client’s goals.
  • Abide by all agency and client processes, such as using appropriate tools and templates, and identify areas of improvement within processes.
  • Take a proactive role in personal goal-setting (V2MOM) and professional development. *Note: V2MOM stands for Vision, Values, Methods, Obstacles, and Measures. Each team member develops a V2MOM to guide their goals every year.

What you’ll need

  • Writing samples – Please link to any writing samples in this application, if possible, or be able to present them upon request.
  • A solid command of all aspects of writing (structure, spelling, grammar, etc.), especially the ability to adapt your writing style according to a client's brand/messaging guidelines
  • Demonstrated content writing experience in a marketing, communications, PR, or related role
  • Content strategy and/or marketing experience is a plus
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, English, creative writing, or another related field

What makes TrendyMinds a great place to work

We believe a happy team is a solid team; it’s as simple as that.

  • Fully remote: We believe the best team is one that isn’t limited by proximity to a physical location. Whether it’s the west coast or east coast, we work with team members across all of the U.S. time zones.
  • Collaborative team environment: Your voice is important, and we believe the best projects include contributions from everyone.
  • Great benefits: 30 paid days off and 401(k) matching. What more could you ask? Oh yeah, we cover 100% of health insurance premiums for all team members and 50% for their spouses and dependents.
  • Flexible schedule: Some people are early birds who love collaborating in-person at our offices. Others are night owls who enjoy working from home. We are flexible to accommodate different work styles, times, and locations- within reason and the needs of our clients - of course!
  • New equipment: In order to produce incredible work, we have to have incredible equipment. Sorry if you were hoping for a 7-year-old PC. That’s just not our style.
  • Philanthropy: We like to do our part to help our community. With our philanthropy committee and donation matching system, we offer you the resources you need to make a difference.

Our Values

At TrendyMinds, we aim to hire people who share our values. They are at the center of how we treat each other and our clients, and they act as our guideposts for every decision.

Know the Why behind the What.

We aim to be as honest and transparent as possible with our team and clients. The idea of Why lives at the heart of our LOGIQ process and grounds us with clear reasons for the decisions we make. (You will learn more about our LOGIQ process if you join our team.)

Put relationships first.

We not me. For more than 25 years, we've grown a business built on strong relationships with clients. But we also know that developing trust and a collaborative spirit is equally important to cultivate a healthy team that loves having fun.

Think Ahead and push boundaries.

Our tagline isn’t Think Ahead for nothing. We bring a contagious passion to our craft, always searching for creative ways to challenge ourselves and deliver results, even though things don’t always go according to plan. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, improve, and try again.

Bring your full self.

Show up. Each of us has something unique to contribute. In all that we do, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an equitable, inclusive environment so that everyone feels a sense of belonging.
