What we are looking for...
AvantStay is looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager who is seeking to join a fast-growing startup immediately. The ideal candidate will own day-to-day corporate accounting, overseeing the monthly accounting close, establishing and monitoring internal controls, and ensuring effective policies & procedures, are in place. As the Manager of Corporate Accounting, you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process.
What you'll do...
- Lead the Corporate Accounting team and ensure accurate and complete accounting records, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures
- Manage the accounting close cycle ensuring timelines are established and met
- Act as subject matter expert regarding proper treatment of general ledger transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Own the account reconciliation process and guide the accounting team to drive continuous improvements
- Establish accounting accruals and reserves
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively
- Support the external audit by preparing workpapers and memos, providing supporting audit schedules, evidence, and process overviews
- Assist with banking and cash management functions
- Oversee the lease accounting process
- Partner with product development teams to build scalable accounting processes by driving enhancements to our internal systems and related processes
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners surrounding the accounting processes
- Assist with other projects as assigned

Requirements
What you’ll bring...
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience: 5-7+ years accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus but not required
- Qualifications: Active CPA or equivalent license (a plus but not required)
- Systems: NetSuite experience and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced understanding of US GAAP
- 2+ years' in real estate, property management, or a closely related field (a plus but not required)
- Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills
- Highly adaptable with great attention to detail and takes proactive approach to problem solving in a fast paced environment

- $75,000-90,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus + ESOP
