Position Summary
The Creative Design Lead, Retail plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company’s retail marketing functions. The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent direction, for the conceptual development, direction, delivery, buy in, and production of visual design of the retail division. The Creative Design Lead will develop and facilitate processes, procedures, and visual guidance for other content roles.
Essential Functions
- Lead design collaboration with other team members, including designers, copywriters, front-end developers, and project managers.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the retail graphic design team (content developers), setting goals, providing training and approving work as needed.
- Guide and advise fellow retail employees in the creative process to ensure they are representing the brand aligned with our Brand Guide.
- Manage creative design approval process for retail.
- Ensure that customers’ experience with our brand is consistent visually.
- Create additional style guides and brand guidelines to supplement/support needs as they arise.
- Drive process improvements that would enable greater adoption of marketing assets including Digital Assets Management and create processes to ensure proper implementation.
- Manage Digital Asset Management platform within retail.
- Manage relationships and projects with vendors.
- Develop and facilitate retail marketing team brand creative and Digital Asset Management platform training.
- Participate in the creative design approver team, governing process, and documentation.
- Guidance and execution of highly-complex marketing initiatives.
- Design digital materials (websites, email marketing, landing pages, social media) for Pardot, websites, microsites, and retail social media accounts.
- UI and UX design; human-centered design implementation for Guild’s digital footprint, integrating compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Develop sound creative concepts and high-quality solutions across multiple platforms that take into consideration: customers’ needs, market research data, Guild’s business goals, and technology.
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually to department managers and stakeholders to get buy-ins.
- Submit creative deliverables within the agreed-upon deadline and estimated production time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or related degree required, along with a minimum of five years of recent experience in design.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of the mortgage and financial services industry. Demonstrable visual and web design skills with a portfolio that showcases a breadth of style and approaches.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Working experience and transferrable knowledge of project management (proofing) software.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, but also collaborate cross-functionally, with the opportunity to mentor and support teammates.
- Self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong visual, infographic thinking, with the ability to present data in compelling ways.
- Basic understanding of programming languages (HTML and CSS) as well as web design content management system platforms (WordPress).
- Demonstrable knowledge of UX/UI.
- Basic knowledge of marketing automation.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
