About the Role
As an early member of the GlossGenius Creative team and the first Creative Design Manager, you will play a key role in fostering the best environment that enables our Creative team to deliver their best work. You will help the team to deliver high-quality creative assets by helping to scope projects, manage cross-functional relationships and guarantee the quality of all design deliverables. You are an exceptional designer who has transitioned into team management and are excited by the opportunity to help define the creative and brand vision at GlossGenius.
You will report to our Head of Design. This role is welcome to either work in a hybrid environment with 2 days per week in our New York City office (Tuesdays & Thursdays) or fully remotely from one of our hub city locations (San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Toronto).
What You’ll Do
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture to help our designers thrive and produce exceptional creative assets
- Inspire and challenge our creative team by setting a high bar for design and ultimately raising the quality of our design craft
- Establish precise goals and performance standards for team members, consistently evaluating and offering feedback on both individual and collective team performance
- Set up scalable processes and systems to help our in-house Creative team operate at the highest bar with consistency and structure
- Exercise strong change management skills to ensure new processes are seamlessly integrated into the team’s day-to-day
- Guarantee the success of multiple projects by managing the Creative team's demand, capacity planning, and priorities
- Manage and be the point of contact for internal stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Business Development, Sales, etc.) and external partners such as design agencies and contractors
- Own all budget allocation and approval
What We’re Looking for
- 6+ years of Creative Design/Visual Design experience either in an in-house creative team or a design agency
- 2+ years people management experience; proven ability to inspire team members to operate at their highest potential
- An impeccable eye for design and a desire to push beyond the status quo while ensuring a quality, cutting-edge, final product
- Ability to lead multiple projects and drive results
- Proficient in creating systems: adept at crafting procedures from scratch and showcasing adaptability to accomplish tasks effectively in various scenarios
- Ability to work through ambiguity and to find new processes and systems to help a Creative team work more efficiently
- Excellent communication skills; you are comfortable managing internal stakeholders and external partners

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $160,000-$190,000+ target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
