Creative Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
alice and olivia is seeking a Creative Director who will act as a creative visionary to elevate the company’s brand image and take storytelling to the next level. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of creative development including editorial photography, ecomm photography, graphic design, art direction, video production and packaging design. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to drive brand awareness, engagement and loyalty through innovative storytelling across all channels. From developing concepts to directing photo and video shoots you will ensure our creative output reflects the spirit of our brand and engages with our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hold ownership over the look-and-feel, tone and manner of creative projects, continually striving to elevate the brand while ensuring thoughtful and brand-consistent execution across all channels including ecommerce, digital and social.
- Build, own & deliver against a creative budget, strategically allocating resources for photography, freelance talent, technology & tools, and other investments to drive our business priorities forward.
- Generate innovative and visually compelling concepts that communicate both our message and ethos distinctly and efficiently.
- Direct the creation of designs, graphics, and layouts for various marketing materials, ensuring they meet high standards of creativity and aesthetics.
- Oversee photo shoots and video productions, from pre-production planning to post- production editing, ensuring that the final deliverables meet brand standards and objectives.
- Conceptualize and execute high-quality designs for various mediums, including packaging, advertising campaigns, digital assets, and marketing collateral.
- Contribute to campaign development, including ideation, mood boards, and storyboarding.
- Work closely with the Content team, Product Development, and other departments to ensure creative assets align with marketing strategies and objectives.
- Partner with the CEO, Social Art Director and VP of Global Visuals to align and set priorities for team projects and goals.
- Support the overall efforts of the internal creative department by delivering innovative campaigns, creative platforms and deliverables with solid, articulated creative strategy.
- Provide direction for design and branding teams design, creative tools etc.
- Partner closely with Senior Director of Creative Operations and production teams to calendarize, schedule and staff studio e-commerce shoots and special projects, on time and within budget
- Motivate, inspire, and lead a robust team of creatives. Serve as a hands-on leader that drives quality and fosters a culture of innovation and pushing boundaries to create elevated and on brand assets.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of in-house art/creative direction experience, with substantial exposure to a wide variety of focus areas, including brand strategy, digital marketing materials, visual design, merchandising and collateral materials
- Strong experience in graphic design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably in the fashion industry
- A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design styles, innovative concepts, and successful campaigns in print and digital
- Should have robust network of photographers, stylists, producers, agencies, freelancers, etc.
- Motivate and inspire others to achieve their best work and to create an enriching, high performance culture
- Ability to make crucial creative decisions in a timely manner and serve as a composed and solution-oriented leader
- Understanding of digital, social, PR, experiential, emerging platforms, and the evolving media landscape
- Ability to translate brand strategies into compelling visual narratives and impactful designs
BENEFITS:
· $150,000 - $200,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NYC - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other AO employees.)
