As the Creative Director of Website Operations at PetDesk, you'll lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and ensuring the quality of our B2B websites post-sale. Your focus will be on architecting a development process within WordPress, operationalizing the steps from initial design to final launch, and ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client feedback. Collaboration with Implementation and Support teams is key to operationalizing digital development and deployment, covering everything from full website designs to enterprise-level builds. Your role involves crafting data-driven optimization recommendations to influence key stakeholders and drive informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the CEO of PetDesk, you'll be pivotal in driving growth and aligning with business objectives. Bonus points for a passion for tracking website performance and a growth mindset – always experimenting and testing new ways to drive revenue throughout the customer journey.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within PetDesk’s website operations and implement strategies to enhance the design processes for scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Lead and grow an existing U.S. team of 16 to scale, managing professional growth through weekly 1:1 coaching, clear documentation of expectations/opportunities, and recruiting of new team members per the Who Methodology
  • Evaluate and replace (if necessary) outsourced partners to scale – negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms, ensuring optimal value for the organization.
  • Own the web development, design, and QA department’s operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
  • Understand websites requirements, the WordPress structure, and ecosystem while staying in tune with new web technologies to enhance website production and quality
  • Implement best practices for website development, including responsive design, accessibility, and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and standards to ensure website accuracy, functionality, and performance

About You:

  • Over 7 years of web agency or SaaS expertise in leading web development and design teams, driving operational excellence (launching 30+ websites per month)
  • Must have deep understanding of front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Strong understanding of DNS, Cloudflare, and domain management and deep knowledge of web development technologies and hosting platforms, including WPEngine
  • Proficient in utilizing Google applications such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console for comprehensive insights
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication prowess, adept at inspiring and motivating team members
  • Capable of engaging with escalated clients, conducting website reviews, and delivering presentations over video when necessary
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with outsourcing models and vendor management best practices is a plus

Pay Range

$140,000—$156,000 USD
