Creative Director/Marketing Specialist
Job Summary:
Aptive is seeking a full-time Creative Director/Marketing Specialist. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is America’s largest integrated health care system, providing care at 1,293 health care facilities, including 171 medical centers and 1,112 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics), serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year. VHA’s Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT) is working to sustain the development of whole health as a day-to-day approach and practice within the Department of Veterans Affairs and generate cultural transformation from a problem-based disease care system to a person-centered health care system. To achieve this mission, OPCC&CT is developing and distributing strategic marketing and communications that address the availability of personalized, proactive, patient-driven services and products.
The Creative Director/Marketing Specialist will help OPCC&CT develop and deliver a variety of traditional, print, video and digital communications and marketing products to support the organizational brand and help achieve strategic business and communications goals.
This is a contingent hire position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write communications plans for various outreach campaigns including special initiatives and monthly whole health communications plans.
- Create, produce and deliver clear messaging that uses marketing and public relations best practices of written language, graphic design, document design principles, high resolution imagery and other fundamental concepts of effective communication.
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to various requirements (e.g., photo dimensions, web feature stories, social media messaging) as well as deadlines of varied channels of distribution.
- Oversee graphic design efforts to ensure products adhere to government visual standards for color, type, illustration, photography, animation and various print and layout techniques.
- Work with graphic designer to produce a variety of communication materials including, but not limited to, brochures, posters, factsheets, promotional displays, and graphics for print, paid media, web-based or social media platforms.
- Plan, design and execute a paid media campaign promoting awareness and adoption of whole health.
- Update or create written, graphic or visual content for paid media campaigns.
- Ensure all content adheres to Section 508 regulations.
- Support other duties and assignments as required by clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in professional written and visual communications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in professional communications/marketing
- Master’s degree in communications or marketing
- Experience supporting large, complex federal agencies and VHA’s whole health model required
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans
- Ability to interact and engage with executive-level stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Teams) required and experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
