JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Customer Service Representative to execute safety procedures, promote products and services and accommodate changing business needs. This position will be responsible for:

  • Serve as customer service representative for University Health Services (UHS)
  • Process sales through register and computer operating systems and post charges to student accounts
  • Communicate and solve problems for a diverse customer base in person, by phone, email, fax, or regular mail
  • Investigate and resolve unusual situations or concerns regarding patients accounts
  • Execute operational procedures in support of safe work practices
  • Report equipment malfunctions and repairs as necessary
  • Assist in review of departmental policies and procedures
  • Communicate with various departments within UHS in order to accommodate changing business needs
  • Assist in promoting products and/or services to internal and external customers
  • May supervise, train and direct the work of others
  • Assist with the financial administration of the department including cost containment and maximization of revenue by promoting internal services
  • Manage reports and resolve issues with our Third Party Management Service System.
  • Review and return payments as needed.
  • Resolve billing issues.
  • Review monthly statements.

This position typically requires a High School Diploma or higher and 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience .

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
