Customer Solutions Specialist
Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Agency Services team as a Customer Solutions Specialist!
About the role
As a Customer Solutions Specialist, you will serve as a resource to assist life insurance and annuity policy holders who no longer have an active agent to assist them. This role involves providing advice about their existing product(s) and potentially selling new product to orphan customers, or other potential Symetra customers, like beneficiaries.
Responsibilities
- Become an extension of the Individual Life and Retirement customer service teams in supporting policyholders and beneficiaries who need more advanced assistance and guidance, but who are not currently associated with an independent agent. This may involve recommending changes to or distributions from current products.
- Conduct needs-based analysis and/or evaluation of suitability of particular products and services.
- Sell non-variable life insurance and annuity products Submit and track new applications for customers.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance as the agent of record.
- Conduct and manage promotional campaigns via telephone, email or mail, collaborating with marketing, compliance and service.
- Develop deep expertise in Symetra’s legacy and currently sold life and annuity products, as well service and operations processes.
- Serve as a resource for internal teams, including customer service, sales, operations, claims and other key stakeholders.
- Create and implement programs aimed at improving our service and support of our customers.
- Support overflow calls and other tasks for service and operations teams as needed.
- Conduct administrative tasks as needed.

Compensation
$24.81 – 41.34 hourly plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus
Your education, experience and skills
- Bachelors or associate degree, or equivalent industry experience
- Life Insurance License (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Minimum of two years customer service experience.
- Minimum of one year experience in the financial services industry where annuities and life insurance were a primary focus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution and ability to negotiate
- Detail oriented and organized
