About the Role
We are looking for an Associate Underwriting Product Counsel to join our Underwriting team as we find new ways to help our clients solve cyber risk. In this role, you will utilize your legal and insurance coverage skills to help drive the creation of innovative cyber insurance products. Working with the Underwriting, Claims, and Business Development teams, you will analyze underwriting concerns, learn from claims experience, and listen to business development opportunities, all in order to draft clear and concise policy language, coverage enhancements and manuscript wordings. The ideal candidate will have an expert grasp of cyber and technology insurance policy wording, a cyber insurance coverage or litigation background, and experience drafting cyber insurance or other specialty lines policy wording.
This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of new cyber policy contract wording in conjunction with carrier partners
Support underwriting objectives by identifying market trends, conducting competitive product analysis, and drafting product language recommendations
Create endorsement reference Wikis in conjunction with Underwriting leadership outlining our current cyber insurance contract wordings and usage rules
Assist product refreshes by managing our form and endorsement library
Work closely with individual cyber underwriters and utilize your legal writing skills to draft manuscript endorsements for individual accounts
Conduct research into developing cybersecurity and data privacy issues in order to assist our underwriting team's evaluative process
Work with Claims and Underwriting to evaluate legal actions against our insureds, the possible coverage implications, and potential take-aways for our underwriters
Provide coverage education efforts for brokers and internal colleagues
Work closely with our Engineering team in order to deploy new or revised policy forms and endorsements
Support the marketing team by writing articles for publication on our blog and other media, and assist in drafting marketing materials for new product offerings
Requirements
JD (Juris Doctor) and 4+ years of insurance coverage experience
Strong grasp of cyber and technology insurance coverage wordings, including necessary safeguards and competitor wordings
A self-starter that can work proactively, with experience drafting cyber insurance or other specialty lines policy wording
Excellent technical legal writing skills, and demonstrated experience solving difficult coverage issues
Project management experience
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Bonus points
Prior underwriting experience
Experience with other financial lines products (miscellaneous professional, directors and officers, etc.)

Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
Coalition's individual pay is determined on several factors, including but not limited to, location, level, skills and experience. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000- $200,000 and your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process.
