Alteryx is searching for a Data Automation Engineer. This position is remote-friendly.
Position Overview:
As a Data Automation Engineer in IT, you will be part of an innovative and groundbreaking team, being primarily responsible for developing and automating data solutions that drive continuous process improvement for a world-class analytics company. You will work closely with IT leadership and our data experts to solve complex business problems with the Alteryx toolset. Success in this role is critical to our commitment to becoming a world-class data team and fostering Alteryx’s data journey!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Solve our most challenging data automation problems using Alteryx Designer (application license automation, server patch status, C-suite reporting)
- Partner with the Data Engineering team to learn Alteryx’s enterprise data ecosystem and the inventory of curated assets available
- Build novel data solutions to drive operational efficiency and the democratization of information
- Use your innate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and internal drive to continually grow, develop, and hone your craft
- Be fanatical about data and help evangelize our work, team, and Alteryx as a whole!
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of advanced workflow development experience in Alteryx Designer
- Comfortable connecting to disparate source systems (ODBC/JDBC, FTP, API, flat files)
- Intermediate SQL experience (CTEs, date transformations, complex joins)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with other teams across an organization
- Ability to work with geographically distributed teams
- Strong oral and written communication
- BA/BS degree in Information Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field
Valued Skills:
- Alteryx Designer certification
- Tableau dashboard design and development proficiency
- Development experience with Snowflake
- Ability to read ERDs
- Comprehension of data modeling concepts (dimensional, relational, DV 2.0)
- Experience working in Jira or similar tool for sprint management
- Experience maintaining source code in GitLab or similar tool
- Knowledge of at least one modern scripting language (Python, R, etc.
Compensation:
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The salary range for this role in Southern California, Colorado, Washington, and Rhode Island is $103,300 - $175,600.
The salary range for this role in New York City and Northern California is $112,600 - $191,400.
In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus and stock grants. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
