What

As a Design Lead at Drive Commerce, you will play a pivotal role in client interactions, shaping our brand identity, and creating user-centric design solutions, and producing engaging multimedia content. Your expertise in UX/UI design, graphic design, animation, 3D modeling, and more will help us stand out in our industry. You will start as an individual contributor, engaging with clients, and eventually build and lead a creative team.

  • Coach Customization (it's a link...) - Crafting unique and personalized handbag designs to meet the distinct preferences of Coach’s clients.
  • Funko Pop! Yourself (link too) - Allowing customers to transform themselves into personalized Funko Pop! characters, creating a fun and memorable experience.
  • PopSockets Create Your Own (link too) - Empowering individuals to design and customize their own phone accessories, enhancing their personal style.

In addition to product customizations, we work with our clients to offer captivating product recommendation experiences, as exemplified by the following:

  • Polk Audio Help Me Choose: (link too) Assisting consumers in selecting the ideal audio solution, ensuring a tailored and satisfying listening experience.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Client Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding designs and creative tasks, building and maintaining strong relationships. Understand client needs, provide creative solutions, and ensure client satisfaction throughout implementation projects as well as during post-launch support.
  • UX/UI Design: Collaborate with clients to create visually appealing and user and accessibility-friendly interfaces using Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Lead the design process from concept to execution, ensuring it aligns with project goals.
  • Multimedia Production: Develop multimedia content using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, and ZBrush; Adobe After Affects is a plus. Create animations, video presentations, and 3D models that meet client expectations.
  • 3D Modeling: Work with third party agencies to define requirements and oversee assets delivery. Utilize Blender to review deliverables and create 3D models when edits are required.
  • Team Building: Over time, recruit, mentor, and manage a creative team. Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment within the team.
  • Creative Strategy: Work with clients to develop and implement creative strategies that align with their brand objectives in the context of our solutions. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate them into projects.
  • Project Management: Operate alongside the Implementation Team and manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to meet project goals.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of all creative deliverables. Review and provide feedback to team members to maintain high standards in client projects.

Need to Have

  • At least 3-5 years of related experience 
  • Proven experience as a Design Lead or a similar client-facing role in a creative agency
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, ZBrush
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UX/UI design, multimedia content, and 3D modeling work
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills
  • Effective leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities
  • Strong creative and critical thinking
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with ease
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in uncertain and changing environments
  • A sense of curiosity and willingness to learn 
  • A love for solving tough problems

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a startup environment

  • E-commerce experience (regardless of the platform)

  • Understanding of development software, practices, and concepts (Agile, Jira/Confluence, etc.)

  • Ensuring high client satisfaction and positive feedback from clients. 
  • Achieving and maintaining a high standard of creative work in terms of design, multimedia production, and 3D modeling. The quality of work should be evident in client projects and their outcomes.
  • Successfully managing multiple client projects to meet deadlines and budgets, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Resolving client issues when related to creative tasks and not be the bottleneck to fixing issues.
  • As you build and lead your creative team, success will be measured by their professional growth, collaboration, and productivity.

For this position, we are looking for candidates located and authorized to work in the United States.
