Job Description
In our Software Engineering Group focused on Site reliability and automation engineering,, we look for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering best practices. This role ensures critical Engineering automations that help keep cutting edge applications with strict real-time SLAs. The role requires a broader skill set on top of Operational support capabilities and experiences, including:
- Adept in Hadoop and its eco-system to diagnose and fix application issues
- Orchestration (e.g., Autosys, Airflow, Control-M, Oozie, etc.). Of those, Autosys experience would be valuable to create automation.
- Hands on in observability tools like App Dynamix, Grafana, Splunk and know-how on SLI, SLO, SLAs and KPIs. Grafana and Splunk dashboard experience a plus!
- Database exposure and intermediate level SQL and CQL skills to be able to query and manage GOS and Cassandra
- Outline critically architectural bottlenecks that may disrupt the app's performance and work with AD teams to resolve
- Develop quality metrics in partnership with QA and AD teams for data processing, data ingestion, API validation, Cloud migration, and throughput testing
- Release management and SDLC including experienced in Jules and Jenkins pipeline deployments
- Follow processes to report defects, track and analyze the test results methodically and systematically so audit and lineage are always maintained.
- Incident management and follow through to RCA finding and resolution. Requires diverse coordination skills.
- Work collaboratively in a team with fellow developers, sharing ideas to solve complex and challenging business problems.
- Be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions.
Specific Tools and Technology Exposure that will be beneficial
- Experience with database technologies - Oracle/MySQL, Cassandra
- Experience with Languages - Java, Scala, Python, Shell Scripts
- Familiar with development tools such as Eclipse, Bitbucket, Sqldeveloper/Toad, JIRA, Jules, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with big data stack - Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Impala, Kafka, Cloudera/Hortonworks is a big plus
- Knowledge of building Rest API (microservices) with Spring, Spring boot is a plus
- Knowledge of AWS is a plus- an AWS certification in architecture would be an advantage (Assoc. Arch or Dev)
