DevOps Engineer
Company Description
The Molasses Flood is looking for a DevOps Engineer, mid to senior level, to join our Engine Team. The DevOps Engineer will maintain and improve our CI/CD infrastructure, manage both physical and virtual hardware, and support our game’s backend infrastructure needs, as well as discover/build tools to support developer iteration and workflows, ensuring our project’s build process is as quick and hassle free as possible. They will also engage with our parent company to collaborate on building and scaling the backend needs of our product.
This is a full-time salaried position, reporting to the Lead Engine Programmer. This job could be performed either working a hybrid model out of our office in the greater Boston area, or remote within the contiguous US states. Relocation assistance is available for moving to the Boston area. All staff work a schedule aligned to US eastern time, regardless of US location.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Create, implement and maintain CI/CD systems for optimal running of the game build
- Build tools to support developer iteration, monitoring, and diagnosis of problems in both automation and backend systems
- Setup and manage new and existing build machine hardware, both virtual and physical
- Identify, communicate and propose solutions to issues impeding build performance
- Collaboration and communication with development teams of all disciplines on build issues and how best to resolve them
- Design, implement and maintain pipeline tools
- Release deployment coordination
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps / Build and Release, preferably in the games industry
- 3+ years working with Jenkins or equivalent automation system
- Competence with C# or a similar language
- Communication skills: the ability to express yourself clearly both verbally and in written documentation
- Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude
- Candidates must have a US work permit or citizenship
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge in any of the following: Python, Windows Batch, Windows PowerShell, and/or C++
- Knowledge of modern container management tech
- Commercial experience shipping a console game
- Unreal 4-5 experience preferred
- Experience in managing a VMware virtualization infrastructure, including virtual machine deployment, configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
The expected annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 USD, negotiable. Salary offered will be based upon a number of factors, including but not limited to: skill set, years and quality of experience, and suitability for the role.
