Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll work in one of our our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC) located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana or Monroe, Louisiana, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As a Dev Ops professional, you’ll work in an Agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems, which may include software installations, updates, and core services.

Your primary responsibilities include:

Automate provisioning of computing, network and storage resources in the environment

Create and maintain the software deployment automation solution

Collaborate with other software engineers/developers to maximize developer productivity

Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in deployment for the other software engineers/developers

Maintain environmental integrity (DEV, UAT, PROD) using the extended support mode

The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge, LA and Monroe, LA centers. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. If selected for this position, you will be required to relocate to the state of LOUISIANA within 30 days of starting with IBM.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with Docker, containerization, and virtualization

Experience with toolchain automation and automatic deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet)

Experience with implementation using DevOps best practices

Exposure to Cloud technologies (Red Hat, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud)

Exposure to scripting in Unix Shell and/or Python


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with APIs

Experience with multi-cloud environments (nice to have)

Exposure to Feature Toggle, Release Toggle

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
