About the role

As a member of the Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to evolve and extend our Cloud-based infrastructure and processes that allows the team to deliver with high velocity in a safe manner. Security is always top of mind in our industry and you will have the responsibility to continue strengthening our posture. This will require close interaction with Developers, Testers and Product Managers to collaborate on what needs to be built and when. Solid experience in building large scale, high-performance distributed systems in face of complex and often changing business logic is a must.

You are comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; is detail oriented, and is eager to learn new technologies and systems. You can work independently, but are a collaborative team player who knows how to share knowledge, when to teach, and when to learn.

You will

  • Take personal responsibility for the quality, reliability and availability of QA, Sandbox & Production infrastructure
  • Maintain day-to-day operations and documentation of infrastructure
  • Participate in rotating on-call incident response after normal business hours and on weekends
  • Develop and improve instrumentation for monitoring the health and availability, security, efficiency, and scalability of systems
  • Manage a ticket queue of troubleshooting escalations, security vulnerability remediations and completing manual tasks that are not yet automated or require human touch
  • Support both the Operations and Customer Support teams in triaging product configurations and settings that negatively impact Account’s ability to user our service

You have

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
  • 5+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Bash or Perl)
  • Knowledgeable of VPC networking and subnets, firewalls, security groups, DNS, internet gateway, NAT, routing rules
  • Knowledgeable of security best practices (i.e. SSH, ACL, HTTPS/TLS)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a cross-functional team setting
  • Ability to independently design and execute Cloud-based infrastructure projects
  • Be able to forge relationships and work collaboratively with developers, product managers, QA engineers, and support engineers
  • Be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and deliver documents in a timely manner, sometimes under tight timelines
  • Self-starter that takes initiative, is intensely curious and constantly seeking self-improvement
  • Open, honest & direct in your communications
  • Thrive in a fast pace environment that is highly collaborative
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or EE, or relevant industry experience is required
