The DevOps Engineer is responsible for supporting a development team that supports a new application for a large enterprise client. The DevOps Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that the CI/CD of all software development is carried out smoothly while recommending best practices. She/he is the technology evangelist for all tools, frameworks, and technologies to help product development. 

Professional Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of solid professional experience in the DevOps practices of software development specifically supporting infrastructure development, site reliability engineering, and improving CI/CD pipeline automation. 
  • Must have 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Must have 2 + years of experience with Docker and container orchestration using AWS ECS or EKS.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub and Jenkins in AWS cloud environment.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience with AWS Cloud.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience any scripting language (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.,).
  • Experience with Infrastructure and application monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, Datadog and Splunk. 
  • Experience with AIOps, MLOps, and AWS Sagemaker is a plus. 
  • Experience with building REST APIs using python is a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to independently research and suggest solutions for ongoing improvement including new frameworks and infrastructure requirements.
  • A passion for scaling software, ensuring high availability enjoyment of automation and demonstrate a proactive approach to detecting and resolving issues. 
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated by enabling other engineering teams to deliver services with relentlessly high standards through best practices.
  • Agile oriented in approach to engineering and operations, including being comfortable with ambiguity in a flat organization. 
  • Believe in a quick improvement approach: Fail fast, learn fast, improve fast.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining the DevOps processes for the software development team.
  • Understands the current in-house DevOps and build processes, makes necessary recommendations for improvements, and implements those changes.
  • Bridging the gap between legacy development or operations teams.
  • Working collaboratively toward a shared vision and culture.
  • Ensure system uptime and performance.
  • Work to equip developers with the best tools. 
  • Defines and maintains DevOps best practices.  
  • Supports the company’s DevOps process that has cybersecurity in mind, maintain cybersecurity practices in the DevOps processes. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
