Responsibilities

DevSecOps is tasked with building security into the engineering processes so that software our developers release is secure. Our team is tasked with solving new and interesting application security issues at scale. We are searching for a problem solver with a passion for application security, a love of protecting software, and someone who thrives working in a technical role with a high degree of independence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving security best practices across the Ascension Technologies organization.
  • Ensuring secure implementation of features in web applications, APIs, and mobile development.
  • Identify and explain feature level design or architectural weaknesses which could result in security issues.
  • A deep understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and the ability to communicate findings to development and leadership.

Experience:

  • Application Security, penetration testing, or similar experience.
  • Experience as a software developer and 1-3 years in a security focused role in an agile development environment.
  • Understanding of common programming languages - Java, JavaScript (NodeJS), .net, C#, Kotlin, Python, etc
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines including Static, Composition, and Dynamic Code Analysis tools.
  • Experience implementing and monitoring WAF and Container Security technologies.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
